This Japanese historical drama's initial season premiered in 2019, but after it was made available on Netflix in July 2022, it gained popularity all over the world. The Virnando Saga by Japanese novelist Makoto Yukimura served as the inspiration for Vinland Saga. The narrative of King Knut and the fabled Viking warrior Thorfinn is followed in the series.

After the antagonist Askeladd's death in the final episode, the fans were stunned by the first season of the show. The second season of the show is anticipated to go in a different path by viewers.

Vinland Saga will stream on Netflix later in 2023 thanks to the English dubbing rights that Netflix has acquired. Other than China, the series will be streamed globally.

There will be 24 episodes in the season. Additionally, the first season contained 24 episodes. The common practise for anime series is to have 24 episodes.

The new season of the show was made by Studio MAPPA, which also made Jujutsu Kaisen and Attack on Titan, two well-known anime series.

Vinland Saga's first season, which received high praise from reviewers and numerous anime awards, was directed by Shuhei Yabuta. The second season is likewise being directed by Shuhei Yabuta.

According to the director Shuhei Yabuta, Thorfinn's journey will continue in the second season when he is made a slave on a Danish farm. The new adversary will be Einar, a brand-new figure.

Olmar, Snake, Ketil, and Arnheid are just a few of the new characters that Season 2 will feature; Knut and Floki, who first appeared in Season 1, will also return.
